Mud pump refers to the machinery that delivers mud or water and other flushing fluid to the borehole during drilling. In the common positive circulation drilling, it is to send the surface flushing medium water, mud or polymer flushing liquid under a certain pressure through the high-pressure hose, faucet and the central hole of drill string to the bottom of the drill bit, so as to cool the drill bit, remove the cuttings and transport them to the surface.
The commonly used mud pump is piston type or plunger type. The power machine drives the crankshaft of the pump to rotate. The crankshaft drives the piston or plunger to do reciprocating motion in the pump cylinder through the crosshead. Under the alternate action of suction and discharge valves, the purpose of pressing and circulating flushing liquid is realized.
The construction department shall have special maintenance personnel responsible for the maintenance and repair of construction machinery. Regularly check and maintain mud pump and other machinery, and solve problems as soon as possible to avoid shutdown. Attention shall be paid to the size of sediment particles during construction. When the particles are large, the vulnerable parts of the mud pump shall be frequently inspected for timely maintenance or replacement.
